Access Requests Stall Where People Don't Work
Time-bound access only works if getting it is fast. When every request means opening a separate console, filing a ticket, or chasing an approver who never saw the notification, people find a faster path. That path usually ends in standing access.
- Approval requests land in a console or inbox that approvers rarely check, so access waits on whoever notices first.
- Engineers in the middle of an incident lose minutes switching tools to request the access they need to fix it.
- Slow approvals push teams to keep standing admin roles "just in case," the exact risk time-bound access is meant to remove.
- Access granted informally over chat leaves no justification, no ticket reference, and no record of who approved it.

BritiveSolution
Access Requests and Approvals Inside the Conversation
Britive's native apps for Slack and Microsoft Teams let people request, approve, check out, and check in access without opening the Britive console. Chat changes where a request starts, not how it is decided. Every request is evaluated against the same Britive policies, justification rules, and approval chains, and access expires on its own when the checkout window closes.

Request and Check Out from Chat
Users type /britive or /br in Slack or Teams to list the profiles and resources they're eligible for, check access out, and check it back in. When a profile needs approval, the same command sends a request with the user's justification.
[ 002 ]
Approve or Reject Without Switching Tools
Approvers see pending requests for checkouts, access to existing profiles, and new profile creation, then approve or reject them in Slack or Teams. Requesters can see which members of an approver group can act, so they know who to ask.

A Self-Service Access Hub in Slack
The Britive app's Home tab in Slack gives every user three menus: My Access to find a profile and check it out, My Requests to track or withdraw requests, and My Approvals to clear their approval queue.
[ 004 ]
The Same Policies, Wherever the Request Starts
A request made in chat follows the same rules as one made in the console: required justification, Jira or ServiceNow ticket validation, approval chains, and time limits. Changing the channel never changes the policy.

Notifications Where Approvers Already Are
Britive sends approval requests and secret rotation alerts to the Slack or Teams channels you choose. Approvers away from chat can approve from email with a single-use link that works on mobile.

Policy-Based Approval Workflows
Set manager approval, approver groups, and approval windows of 1 to 30 days once. Britive enforces them the same way in chat, the console, the CLI, and the browser extension.
Access Created at Checkout, Removed at Expiry
Access checked out from Slack or Teams is created at the moment of checkout and removed when the window closes, across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, SaaS applications, and on-prem resources.
Self-Service Access Requests
Users can quickly access approved permissions when needed, and they can create and request new permission profiles for approval directly within Britive’s Access Builder.
Ticket and On-Call Validation
Require an open Jira or ServiceNow ticket at checkout, or approve on-call access automatically from a PagerDuty escalation policy, whether the request starts in chat or the console.
Access and Approvals From the Browser
The Britive browser extension puts My Access, My Approvals, and My Secrets in the toolbar of Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Firefox, with platform notifications. It runs the same policy checks as the console.
Request Access From an AI Assistant
Connect an AI assistant to your Britive tenant and ask for access in plain language. Approvals, one-time passcodes, and expiry still apply, and the assistant can never reach more than the user could.
Every Access Decision on the Record
Requests, approvals, checkouts, and check-ins made from chat are recorded in Britive with the justification and ticket attached, so every decision traces back to the person who made it.
