Remove Friction with Fast, Secure Privileged Access Management Directly Through Slack
April 2025 / 5 min. read /

In a cloud-native world where speed and security must go hand in hand, Britive brings secure privileged access directly into your team’s daily collaboration hub: Slack. Built on the principles of Zero Standing Privileges (ZSP), Britive delivers both speed and flexibility to work efficiently without the risk of always-on access.
Whether you're a DevOps engineer needing temporary access to a production system or a security approver validating just-in-time requests, Britive’s Slack integration makes the entire process fast, auditable, and frictionless.
Granular Access at Your Fingertips
With Britive’s Slack integration, users and managers no longer need to switch to a browser or log into a separate console to complete critical tasks.
Users can approve access requests, check in or check out privileged profiles, and receive real-time notifications all within their Slack workspace to enhance agility and increase response times.
Request access to specific cloud profiles and environments directly through Slack through a command such as:
/br list

Real-Time Approvals and Checkouts
Britive turns Slack into a lightweight access governance layer. Approvers can review request details, validate business justification, and approve access without delay.
Access is granted just-in-time, for a limited duration (such as 90 minutes), and then automatically expires. This approach removes standing privileges and drastically reduces the attack surface.
No long-lived credentials. No persistent access. Full ZSP enforcement.
Let’s take a look at an example:
Imagine a user needs immediate access to an AWS Production account. With Britive’s Slack integration, access can be requested directly from Slack with a justification request.
The access request is then routed to a list of approvers via Slack and any other channels according to the profile’s policy.
In this case, the approver is notified of the request directly through Slack for quick and seamless approval without having to leave the chat environment.

Using Britive’s Slack Integration: Commands and Options
Britive’s Slack integration supports simple slash commands for authentication, profile management, requesting and approving management, as well as resource management.
A list of commands, as well as a configuration guide are both available on Britive’s documentation site for reference.
Streamline privileged access management by meeting users where they already work to deliver the speed, flexibility, and control that modern enterprises demand. Have additional questions or want to see Britive in action in your own environment? Connect directly with the team.
